Manny's is not just a restaurant; it's a vibrant piece of culinary history, cherished by locals and visitors alike. It's no wonder that this deli is frequently visited by both celebrities and ordinary folks who relish its rich flavors and hearty portions. One of my favorite customer experiences echoed that sentiment—one patron described Manny's as the "best deli in Chicago," praising not only the food but also the passionate, knowledgeable staff who make each visit memorable.

Though some reviews mention fluctuations in specific dishes, like mac and cheese, the overwhelming feedback is that the quality of the corned beef and pastrami sandwiches is unparalleled. Nothing beats witnessing the traditional meat slicing right before your eyes, adding to the authentic deli experience.

Finding a table at Manny's is rarely a problem, thanks to its spacious layout and efficient service. Whether you're grabbing a quick breakfast, enjoying a leisurely brunch, or stopping in for a hearty lunch, the atmosphere buzzes with a homey feel that invites conversation and camaraderie. Manny's hands down is the best deli in Chicago! The quality and how well the staff know the menu really can tell how passionate they are about the business. The day I went there was a private filming event. I will say if you ever want to try a deli manny's is the place to go to!

My father and I were on a weekend road trip, and of course, I had to stop at Manny's off Jefferson Street in Chicago. My Mawmaw lived on Jefferson Street many years ago, so I know my way around the area. I parked in the back with no issues. We walked into the side with the desserts for sale. Of course, my father is at the age where he has to urinate every fifteen minutes. The restroom was clean, which is always a good sign because my cardinal rule is that if the restroom is a mess, what about the areas that aren't visible? We headed to see the dishes available, and it's kind of like the military, where you get your utensils and a tray and then point out what you want to the server. We settled on the brisket and macaroni and cheese. We also got two fountain drinks. It was around $60, which was worth it based on the massive portions.

Wow, I did not expect this when I walked in. It's absolutely like walking in a Time Machine, but in a good way. Incredible service and what a lovely place to be on a Sunday morning in Chicago Nothing like this in Atlanta and I wish we had something with this much charm The family should be incredibly proud of their achievement

I came in for breakfast but ended up getting what I got last time, the beef brisket. I was pleasantly surprised to have received au jus this time. It made the sandwich even more amazing. I tried the potato pancake again but I still did not like it. I think it's just preference at this point because my partner loves it. The place was packed for a Saturday morning but the line moved fast. There was a magician going from table to table. We ended up getting coffee on the way out and it is strong!

If you are visiting Chicago or just find yourself in the area, Manny's is definitely a place you need to try, especially if you like corned beef or pastrami. They are famous for their giant, delicious sandwiches. They are also famous for their atmosphere. Everyone from celebrities to presidents have frequented Manny's. The restaurant feels historic, yet clean, with a great, old style, diner vibe. All the employees are very friendly and keep the place clean. So why the 4 stars and not 5? They have a lot of other items here, and they are quite hit or miss. The mac and cheese for instance, is the strangest tasting mac and cheese I have ever had. The topping was great, but inside they use some sweet almost egg like substance and it doesn't really taste like cheese. The other reason is the pricing. You get a lot of food, but you pay for it...and then some. Don't be surprised if a meal for two runs you $60+ after sides and drinks (not even the alcoholic type either). All said, this place is an experience. If it's your first time, don't focus on the price, just come and enjoy, and try it for yourself. I would recommend for your first time you stick with a corned beef sandwich, or maybe a reuben, unless you really like pastrami which is a little too heavy for me.

Been a few years since my last visit into the city with all the crime. Stopped in for lunch. Prices have gone up like everywhere but this will be my last visit. Sandwich, latke, cup of soup and can of soda $34. And the sandwich use to be heaping over. Not this serving...

Excellent deli food especially their Jewish food fare with humongous matzo balls in yummy chicken broth. Their pastrami sandwich was piled with stacks of pastrami, simply delicious! This is a cafeteria style diner, you will order what you want & pay for it, they give you a number stand & the server will deliver the food to your table, we went early at 22am before the lunch crowd comes, the diner is huge but it gets filled up pretty quickly. Being downtown, they had ample parking behind the restaurant & it's free. You cannot beat that! This is a typical diner seating, we loved the atmosphere

Manny's has been around for decades and I have not been in decades, but we we wanted a traditional deli experience. They have not changed over the years. It is a typical cafeteria experience, which many people are not familiar with , but the staff are patient and helpful. We all opted for the corned beef sandwiches. Sandwiches range from $18-$25 , but they are huge and probably one pound of meat. We definately could have shared. The corned beef is sliced when you order, so fresh. There are several bread options. Each sandwich comes with a side of pickles . We also purchased the special sauce. They also have Manny's Beer a Pastrami on Rye, a collaboration with Piperworks Brewery. Everyone should go to Manny's at least once, to experience an incredible corned beef sandwich.

I have two separate experiences with Manny's to rate. First, we ordered Manny's catering for brunch for the Sunday after our wedding. We got a selection of sandwiches, a lox platter with bagels, and a dessert platter. Our experience was EXCELLENT. The online ordering was extremely easy, pricing was transparent, and we were able to really customize what we wanted. The delivery arrived about 15 minutes early and they brought so many condiments and goodies we weren't expecting. Then, the food was soooo good and an absolute hit. Like, every single platter was cleared. It was such a perfect decision for such a big day. I cannot recommend catering enough!! Second, after such a success with catering, we knew we had to actually visit the restaurant. I could not believe the size of the place! No worries at all about finding a table. We were a little confused about the counter ordering, but the staff was so nice and helpful. And lemme tell you, the counter ordering is genius, because it made me want EVERYTHING. I got a bagel sandwich, then went back up after eating to get Mac & cheese! Everything we had was fantastic. It's worth the long journey for us!

It's been on my husband's bucket list to go to Manny's and we finally made it! I've never been to a cafe/deli like this before (outside of school) so it was definitely a new experience! Grabbed a tray and some silverware and walked up to the counter to order our food. Prices seemed pretty reasonable, considering it's in the city. Food was very good, but as it's cafeteria style not cooked to order. I got an order of the large Mish Mosh soup with a little bit of everything. It was very good! Husband got the pastrami but got it on a French roll, for the price it didn't seem super worth it, it wasn't quite piled as high as some of the photos which was disappointing, but he was still very full afterwards. Staff was very fast, friendly and helpful. They have a counter after paying for more utensils, drinks, water. Plenty of seating available with people chatting. They also have a to go deli and bakery attached. Free 1hr parking in the lot which is a rare find in the city. Overall a very pleasant experience!
